Year 8 Plymouth University Trip

Last Wednesday all our Year 8 students went to the University of Plymouth.

Last week we took our Year 8 students to the University of Plymouth as part of the "High Aspirations" programme that they are starting this term.  The programme aims to ensure that all of our students know about the opportunities available to them in higher education and support them in planning how they can achieve their goals.

Students spent the morning touring the campus and learnt about what a university can offer.  Some of the places that they visited were the Students' Union, Library and Halls of Residence where they were taken by student ambassadors able to answer their questions.  Students also experienced a talk in the lecture theatre and participated in a workshop to design a degree course.

Students demonstrated their interest through the wide variety of questions they asked, with many already having ideas about subjects they might want to study and careers they are planning.  We hope that through this programme we are able to make their aspirations become a reality.
