Today is all about celebrating the achievements of young people across our city. The results are even more commendable when we remember that these young people have suffered more educational disruption than any other cohort of pupils in recent history. They have adapted to prolonged periods of time away from their peers, their routines and their usual school settings. Despite this, they have tirelessly adapted, persevered, and responded to new ways of teaching and learning in order to achieve these successes today. We are in no doubt that this unique and exceptional cohort of young people will harness all of this learning, adaption, and resilience, to great effect in their further study and careers.

All schools across the city commit to the ongoing support of these young people as they make further study and career decisions over the next few weeks. Today, however, is all about pausing to acknowledge and celebrate their success. Schools across the city are incredibly proud of all that they have achieved.

It is also a day to recognise and thank schools and teaching teams across Plymouth, who have worked so tirelessly to ensure access to education for all young people.

For Coombe Dean students we are delighted to be able to celebrate with our students a strong set of results, with some major individual achievements including several students who have achieved grades 8 and 9 across all their qualifications. Even more important to us is that students have been successful in moving on to their chosen placements for post 16 study and continue their learning journeys.

Students will now move into the next stage of their education and training with options including A-Levels, technical courses and apprenticeships.
